On 10 September 2025, TERRAVISION project was proudly represented at the GAIA-TSF Stakeholder Workshop, held in Seville, Spain.
The workshop, organized under the GAIA-TSF initiative, focused on best practices and standards for innovative Earth Observation (EO) technologies and services for Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) and waste monitoring. It brought together leading stakeholders from industry, academia, government, and civil society to exchange knowledge on sustainable mining and environmental monitoring.
TERRAVISION contributed to the panel discussion on “Stakeholder Perspectives on Key Opportunities and Challenges in TSF and Waste Monitoring”, represented by Dr. Rafael del Hoyo and Clara Balbín. The discussion emphasized how TERRAVISION’s Earth Observation Mining Services Platform can:
- Support safer TSF monitoring through satellite and in-situ data integration.
- Advance AI-driven analytics for early risk detection.
- Promote resilient and environmentally accountable mining practices across Europe.
By engaging with the GAIA-TSF community, TERRAVISION strengthens collaboration across EU-funded initiatives, ensuring that innovative EO solutions can be widely adopted for sustainable raw materials management.
We are proud to contribute to this dialogue and to build synergies with projects like GAIA-TSF, driving forward the EU’s vision for a resilient, safe, and sustainable mining sector.
