We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the 1,5 day plenary meeting for TERRAVISION, held in Seville, Spain, on October 15-16. This significant event marked the first General Assembly of the project and brought together key members of the consortium, to discuss the progress, challenges, and next steps in the development of TERRAVISION

Day 1 Highlights:

The first day commenced with a warm welcome by Filippo Compagni (ISMC), followed by an overview of the TERRAVISION project’s achievements, presented by Chrysoula Papathanasiou (ICCS). A series of work package updates provided insights into critical aspects of the project, including:

  • Project Management and coordination progress.
  • Requirements, Specifications, and Overall Architecture , including user experience and system architecture discussions.
  • Data Ecosystem for Large-scale Earth Observation (EO) Mining Services , with contributions on data collection methods such as drones and in-situ sensors.
  • Updates on Analysis Ready Data and Raw Spectral Signatures.
  • Applications of EO services in the mining industry, such as surface deformation mapping and dynamic hazard mapping.

The day concluded with discussions on Dissemination, Communication, and Market Uptake strategies and a wrap-up session to outline action points for the next stages of the project.

Day 2 Focus:

The second day, a technical meeting, focused on demonstrator updates and platform architecture refinements. Topics included:

  • Platform Architecture refinements and deployment of services within the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE).
  • Interdependencies with Demonstrators, including updates on the installation of in-situ stations and processing of surface and core samples.

The event wrapped up with a clustering session organized by ISMC, aimed at fostering collaboration and synergy among participants.
