In the month of October, the team from our project partner Dimap-Spectral GmbH, successfully carried out an advanced airborne data acquisition campaign over the TernaMag mining areas on Evia Island, Greece. The mission supports the project goal to develop integrated Earth Observation services that enhance the raw materials mining life cycle.

Operating a P68 aircraft (D-GKRE) at 3,000 ft AGL, the team collected multiple high-resolution datasets using state-of-the-art sensors:

  • LiDAR: RIEGL VQ-780 II – 50 pts/m² density
  • Digital Camera: Hasselblad A6D-100C – 7 cm GSD
  • Thermal Camera: Workswell WIRIS® Pro – 1 m GSD
  • Hyperspectral VNIR: NEO HySpex 1600 – 70 cm GSD
  • Hyperspectral SWIR: NEO HySpex 320E – 1.5 m GSD

The campaign covered 73 flight lines and over 10 hours of data collection, resulting in a comprehensive suite of airborne datasets that will be seamlessly integrated into the TERRAVISION data ecosystem.

Stay tuned for more aerial views from the other participating mines!
